Dolly-Parton
Born on Jan. 19th, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn into a low-income family that would ultimately comprise 12 kids Dolly Parton learned early to get away from the struggles of living through her vibrant and broad imagination. Prior to learning how to read or write she wrote herself songs. When she was 8, she got her first electric guitar. She began to sing at a Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. Gold Band Records is a small label that is independent. While still in highschool She made her mark locally but dreamed about an even bigger stage. She moved to Nashville shortly after her graduation in 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first record to chart for the first time on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated TV show host in the late '60s, was looking for a singer for his program. Parton became a member of Grand Ole Opry 1969 after signing in 1969 with RCA Records. It was not until 1974 that she opted to walk away from Wagoner's program as the popularity of her individual records such as Joshua Coat, Many Colors, and Jolene was outstripping their joint efforts. Parton, after the split of their partnership with Wagoner was the one to write"I'll Always Be Loved" by You and made it to No. #1 for the first time in 1974.
