Lars Mikkelsen-1Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen, born 6 May 1964 is a Danish actor. He was in the role of Troels Hartmann (Copenhagen mayoral candidate) in The Killing and [1] Charles Augustus Magnussen (third series of Sherlock) in the third series of Sherlock, as well as Russian president Viktor Petrov on Netflix's American House of Cards, and Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars Rebels. He received the Reumert Prize of Honour in 2011, aged of 27. In 1995, he was admitted to the National Theatre School of Denmark. Apart from his appearance in The Killing, [1] was also a part of Borgen III, a Danish drama that was widely and critically acclaimed. He also played a central role in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as the blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen.In the American television show House of Cards, he played the president of Russia. He was awarded an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his role in Danish television drama Herrens Veje. The show aired in the UK in 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm
